QUICKCUT NEWS PACKAGE ON "PARENTS WANT SCHOOL POLICY REVERSED"  - aired during CPTV NEWS QUICKCUT NEWSCAST on DECEMBER 3, 2021

This package is regarding parents of a neighboring school corporation requesting a Superior Court to reverse the corporation's mask mandate policy in favor of a "masks optional" policy. At this time, the COVID Omicron variant was starting to quickly spread, and 600 CPHS students were quarantined. I felt this piece was necessary for a divided audience regarding mask policies. I wanted to learn and present unbiased information regarding local health data and mask policies. In the end, our program was questioned by administrators because I featured an interview of a subject they believed was publicly attacking the corporation's policy.

Segments like these are necessary in our communities and challenge student journalists to stay strong, yet respectful, when questioning adults. Only through the consistent and continual presentation of fair and unbiased stories will we be able to earn back the trust of news consumers.

"WORDS HURT" PSA SPOT PRODUCTION - SEPTEMBER 2020 FOR THEDOGRADIO.COM

This PSA is one of the earliest spots I scripted, voiced, edited and produced. The :30 second spot entitled, "Words Hurt," was created to speak directly to our audience in defense of the silenced, marginalized and/or those who feel like they aren't valued in our school community. Being a commercial free streaming radio station, spots like these have the ability to cut through the sometimes monotonous music and programming. I try to use my voice and the privilege of being on air to reach as many people as possible with messages of kindness, making ethical choices and advocacy.

"GET INVOLVED TODAY" PSA SPOT PRODUCTION - OCTOBER 2022 FOR THEDOGRADIO.COM

This :30 second spot entitled, "Get Involved Today," was created for the purpose of inspiring students at CPHS to participate in some type of student life activity. I scripted, narrated, edited and produced this piece while collaborating with two other students who helped voice the spot. I cherish the opportunity and platform to speak to a larger audience in a way which, hopefully, benefits our community.
