FEATURE COVERAGE OF CPHS GIRLS SOCCER SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - aired in OCTOBER 2020
This three and half minute highlight features the CPHS girls soccer team sectional championship win and is evidence of my ability to tell a story through images. I was given full field access to capture this footage on a Canon AX10. The AX10 has limited far-range zooming capabilities compared to our program's current supply of Canon AX50s, making it a challenge to capture hi-res shots across the field; however, from this I learned the importance of working with a crew on these types of assignments. I placed a wireless lav mic on the head coach which allowed me to capture all of his dialogue. This feature originally aired during a newscast sports report.
NATURAL AUDIO PACKAGE "THINGS MY FAMILY DOES DURING QUARANTINE" - aired in APRIL 2020
This was the very first natural audio package I produced. "Natty Packs" use no stand-up reporting and rely on imagery, natural audio and interviews to tell the story. This package was shot during the early days of COVID quarantine when we were trying to figure out how to produce news packages and, ultimately, a newscast from our individual homes. I shot and edited this package completely on my iPhone and while it's clear I had much to learn regarding interviews, I'm still proud of some of the footage and audio I was able to capture in an effort to tell this story.
CPHS "WE ARE CP" PROMOTIONAL VIDEO - aired at home athletic events during the 2022-2023 school year
The CPCSC purchased two large video boards during the summer of 2022 and needed content for these new platforms. Our staff pitched a "We Are CP" campaign idea in which we would gather footage of classrooms our peers found to be spaces which portrayed the essence of what it meant to live, learn and grow in Crown Point. This is one spot from the campaign I created around the band and is an example of my ability to capture dynamic footage and tell a story through images and s.w.a.p.-syncing words and pictures.
